Served as borrower’s counsel to Washoe Barton Medical Clinic, doing business as Carson Valley Medical Center (the “Corporation”) in connection with the issuance of $41,000,000 Public Finance Authority Hospital Revenue Bonds (Carson Valley Medical Center) Series 2021A (the “Bonds”), the proceeds of which are being used to refinance approximated $6.15 million of prior debt and finance an approximately 46,500 square foot building expansion and the renovation of certain hospital and other medical facilities. 

Represented Cal State University Channel Islands in their public/private partnership with Kennedy Wilson to manage the existing on-campus housing stock and construct 120 single-family attached homes, an age-restricted apartment complex, and a family apartment complex. As part of a long-term plan to continue to increase the university’s student enrollment, this aspect focused on providing more housing for prospective faculty and staff, and expanding community resources for residents.

Assisted California State University and California State University Channel Islands Site Authority in selling a ground lease interest in commercial and multi-family residential property to K-W Properties, an affiliate of Kennedy Wilson, for $82 million. Kennedy Wilson will operate and maintain designated rental housing and commercial retail facilities, while the Site Authority will continue to exercise land use authority over the property. The transaction, a first of its kind in the State of California, is an effort to assist the State in funding its California State University operations at the Channel Islands campus. California State University expects this transaction to serve as a system-wide model.
