Greg Cordrey is a partner in the firm's Intellectual Property practice with nearly 30 years of experience in patent infringement litigation, post-grant proceedings such as inter partes reviews (IPRs), and complex IP disputes, including trade secret, trade dress and breach of joint venture and engineering development contracts involving advanced technologies. This depth of experience gives clients a decisive advantage whether they are enforcing IP rights or defending against infringement or misappropriation claims.

Greg's nearly three decades of experience across more than 300 patent matters means clients aren't paying for a learning curve. He brings proven litigation strategy, sharp technical fluency, and a results-driven approach to every engagement — from pre-suit analysis and claim construction through trial and appeal.

Greg represents both patent owners and accused infringers in federal court litigation and before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). His dual-sided experience gives clients an edge when formulating strategies for a client’s specific dispute. Greg regularly litigates in the most active patent venues in the country, including the federal district courts and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Greg advises clients across a wide range of technically demanding industries. His practice spans computer software, hardware, and accessories, medical devices and life sciences, aerospace and aviation, semiconductor and LCD manufacturing, automotive technology, and consumer products and electronics. This meaningful technical depth across such a broad range of industries translates directly into a shorter learning curve and sharper claim analysis that results in more effective and efficient representation.

His technical background isn't limited to the courtroom. Before law school, Greg worked as a flight test engineer in the aerospace industry, where he was part of the engineering team that certified commercial wide-body aircraft including the MD-11 and C-17. That real-world engineering experience directly informs his ability to quickly master complex technical subject matter.

Beyond litigation, Greg has negotiated IP license agreements across diverse technology sectors and regularly counsels clients on intellectual property acquisition strategies, portfolio management, and litigation risk assessment. Whether a client needs a licensing strategy built from the ground up or a second opinion on a high-value IP transaction, Greg brings the same depth of experience to the table.

Greg has been repeatedly recognized for his work in intellectual property law by Best Lawyers in America for Intellectual Property Litigation and Patent Litigation (2010–2026) and as Orange County Patent Litigation Lawyer of the Year (2017, 2019, and 2020). He has also been named to Super Lawyers Southern California (2011–2026) and Super Lawyers Rising Stars (2005–2007).
