Stradling Welcomes Seasoned M&A Lawyer Claudia Simon

San Diego CA (January 16, 2019) - Stradling Yocca Carlson & Rauth, a Professional Corporation, announced today the addition of Claudia Simon as a shareholder in the firm’s San Diego and Santa Monica offices, and a member of the firm’s M&A and Private Equity practice groups. Prior to joining Stradling, Claudia was a partner in the M&A and Securities Practice Group at Schulte, Roth & Zabel LLP in New York, and was previously an M&A partner in Paul Hastings’ Los Angeles office. Claudia is the second M&A shareholder to join the group in the last month. In December 2018, the firm hired Jeffrey Kateman, a former Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP and Latham & Watkins partner with years of experience representing private equity firms and public and private companies in M&A transactions.

For more than 15 years, Claudia has focused on representing public and private companies and private equity firms in domestic and cross-border mergers, stock and asset transactions, complex divisional carve-out transactions, minority investments, joint ventures, tender and exchange offers, leveraged buyouts, takeover defenses and corporate governance matters. She has represented clients from a broad range of industries including pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, medical products, chemicals, technology, aerospace and defense, construction, financial services, transportation, entertainment, food, retail and consumer products.

Claudia earned her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law, magna cum laude, in 2001, and her B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley, cum laude, in 1992. She is admitted to practice in California, New York, and the District of Columbia.
