Hayden Trubitt Featured in Article About Daniel (Doc) Adams, The "True Father of Baseball"

Stradling shareholder Hayden Trubitt was highlighted in a March 31 FoxNews.com featured article about Daniel (Doc) Adams, the “true father of baseball.” Trubitt is the owner of the “Laws of Base Ball” manuscripts; these documents, handwritten by Adams and others for the 1857 Base Ball Convention of New York-area clubs, formulated the modern playing rules adopted by the 1857 Convention (including the introduction of key rules such as 9 innings, 9 players and 90-feet basepaths). Trubitt was quoted in the article as declaring that the 1857 Convention "was like the U.S. Constitutional Convention. It was a beautiful expression of American government sensibilities.”

In 2016 the Laws of Base Ball manuscripts were proclaimed “the Magna Carta of Baseball” by Major League Baseball’s official historian.
