Acacia Research Closes $35 Million Private Placement

Advised Acacia Research Corporation in its initial closing of its private placement transaction with Starboard Value LP, a New York-based investment adviser that invests in publicly traded U.S. companies.  This initial closing resulted in a total investment of $35 million from Starboard.  Subject to the satisfaction of certain conditions and additional closings, the financing will provide Acacia with access to up to $400 million of new capital for strategic investments and acquisitions
