eDiscovery Associate

Location: Newport Beach, CA (hybrid, 2-3 days in-office per week)

Position Type: Full-Time (Minimum 75% Schedule)

Position Overview: The firm seeks an eDiscovery Attorney to join its team. This off-track associate position offers flexibility, allowing for a full-time schedule with the option to work an abbreviated schedule of no less than 75%. The successful candidate will work closely under the supervision of Senior Counsel specializing in E-Discovery. Much of the work will be generated from the Securities Litigation and Enforcement Practice Group and from White Collar Defense, although there will also be work related to Commercial Litigation. We are willing to train the right candidate with interest in investigations and litigation-related document review. Must show a strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, analyze, summarize, and code voluminous document productions, including conducting privilege analyses.​
  • Draft privilege and redaction logs.
  • Collaborate with investigation and litigation teams to manage eDiscovery processes throughout the litigation lifecycle, including document retention, collections, attorney review, and production.​
  • Utilize state-of-the-art analytical tools to evaluate targeted content for relevance in a cost-effective manner.​
  • Identify and select documents critical to advancing client-related issues.​

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.​
  • Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.​
  • Proficiency in Relativity, including the ability to develop keyword searches.​
  • Ability to quickly learn factual matters and relevant issues to apply to document review.​
  • Experience reviewing, analyzing, summarizing, and coding large document productions, including privilege analysis.​
  • Ability to identify and select documents critical to advancing client-related issues.​
  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
  • Working knowledge of electronic data collection, processing, and productions is helpful.​
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.​
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.​
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.​

Work Environment: The firm offers a flexible work environment, allowing the eDiscovery Attorney to choose between on-site, hybrid, or remote work arrangements. While this is a full-time position, there is an option to work an abbreviated schedule, not less than 75%, to accommodate work-life balance.​

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $150-175K plus bonus. The firm also provides a comprehensive benefits package to support the well-being of its employees.​
